Undergraduate and Graduate Field Experience Placements

General information regarding the selection of sites, district, cooperating teachers, and areas of emphasis may be obtained from your assigned faculty advisor. Specific information and decisions for field studies differ with each area of disability. Only the following persons are authorized to make the placement decisions:

Mild/Moderate Disabilities: The selection of sites and cooperating teachers is made by Julia Fleming, Clinical Supervisor, with the approval of Breda O'Keeffe, Area Coordinator.

Severe Disabilities: The selection of sites and cooperating teachers is made by Shamby Polychronis, Clinical Supervisor, with the approval of Matt Jameson, Area Coordinator.

Preschool Special Education/Early Intervention: The selection of sites and cooperating teachers is made by Jennifer Jones, Clinical Supervisor, with the approval of Susan Johnston, Area Coordinator.

Visual Impairments: The selection of sites and cooperating teachers is made by Chris Bischke, Area Coordinator.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing: The selection of sites and cooperating teachers is made by Nicole Pilling, Area Coordinator.

Distance Education: The selection of sites and cooperating teachers is made by the local school district special education director with approval of Ryan Walker, Distance Ed Coordinator.

Graduate Only Field Experience Placements

Deafblind: The selection of sites and cooperating teachers is made by Sarah Ivy, Area Coordinator.

BCBA: The selection of sites and cooperating teachers is made by Rob O’Neill, Area Coordinator.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS IN FIELD PLACEMENTS
