U-FIT
U-FIT is a family-centered program designed for children and youth with special needs. We provide physical activities in a fun, non-competitive environment to help them reach their goals. With the help of skilled volunteers, they will build friendships, increase self-esteem, and improve motor skills and fitness while having fun. The key to the success of the U-FIT Program is the family involvement of those who participate. Participants should reach out to Samantha Ross-Cypcar, Program Director at 801-585-5526. Volunteers should reach out to Bryan Boothe, Program Coordinator.
We are located in the HPER complex at 250 S 1850 E Room W 117, Salt Lake City, UT 84112-0920
Who can participate in U-FIT?
Children involved in the program range in age from 3 to 18 years and have a wide variety of disabilities. UFIT for Life offers programming for adults with disabilities ages 16 to 30 years. Participants receive individual instruction from trained volunteers and students at the University of Utah. Total participant enrollment is determined by volunteer commitment.
How do I find U-FIT activities?
The activities are held on Friday evenings from 6 pm to 7:30 pm in the HPER complex and in the HPER swimming pool. Parking for the U-FIT program is located in the Central Garage. The program follows the University academic calendar and does not meet in the summer.
