Transfer Student Information

All Special Education students must first be admitted to the University of Utah.
Transfer students have attended other colleges or universities and completed 30 or more credits.

Students can utilize the above guides to see if their transfer credit satisfies any Department of Special Education requirements.
The guide includes all of the transfer courses that Special Education faculty members have reviewed.

Apply for Admission to the University of Utah

Visit the Office of Admissions website to view application deadlines, apply for admission to the University of Utah and pay the application fee. Send your official transcript(s) from all previously and currently attended universities/colleges to the Office of Admissions either electronically or by mail.

Review your "NEXT STEPS" once you have been admitted

After you receive your admission packet, visit the Office of Admissions website to review your admitted "NEXT STEPS". Make sure to pay your enrollment deposit, register for and attend your mandatory Transfer New Student Orientation event, and send in your final transcripts by the set deadlines.

Meet with the Special Education Academic Advisor

Schedule an appointment with the Special Education Academic Advisor. In addition to helping you review your transfer credits, the advisor will introduce you to the academic programs and resources in the Department of Special Education.
